About the English Pool Association and Region 7
The Maidenhead Pool League is affiliated to the EPA (English Pool Association) through the Berkshire County. This affiliation offers the opportunity to teams and individuals to enter and participate in National and regional EPA competitions. The EPA is the largest pool governing body in the UK with over 12,000 affiliated members divided into 7 regions. These regions are grouped on a county basis with individual local leagues making up the grass roots playing community. Berkshire county is part of the EPA’s region 7 along with London, Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and Sussex.
Berkshire County
The Berkshire county structure consists of the following affiliated leagues; Maidenhead, Bracknell & Ascot, Hammersmith & Districts, Hampton & Richmond, Hayes & District, Marlow, Renegade Slough & Districts, West London, Windsor and Uxbridge. Currently the Berkshire County home venue is Chiswick Snooker Centre in West London. The management are keen supporters of the county squads providing sponsorship and free facilities at home county matches.
Berkshire County Matches
County matches are played on Sundays from midday to approximately 6pm. Each county team plays 44 games to decide the match. Each side consists of 11 players plus reserves that play 4 games each. These matches are organised each month and a schedule is available from the Berkshire County Web-site.
